Our Manual Driving Lessons are perfect for learners who want full control of their vehicle and the freedom to drive any car on the road. Manual driving takes a little longer to master than automatic — but with the right instructor, it is entirely achievable.
Manual lessons follow the same structure as automatic lessons but with the added layer of clutch control and gear changes. The first few lessons focus on moving off smoothly, finding the bite point, and changing gears in light traffic. Most learners find the coordination clicks within two or three lessons.
Once that foundation is in place, lessons build up through roundabouts, hills, multi-lane traffic, parking, and test routes — the same progression as auto, with more to manage at each stage.
One practical reason to choose manual: a manual licence covers both manual and automatic vehicles, while an automatic licence restricts you to automatics only. If you are unsure which suits you, one lesson in each is enough to make the call.
Pickup and drop-off are included anywhere in the service area. Your instructor signs off your logbook at the end of each lesson, including any bonus hours that apply in your state.
